Yes, Glass Railing may be used in external applications but proper precautions must be taken to prevent the accumulation of water in the shoe. This is of particular concern if you are using a dry glaze method which results in multiple voids around the glass. If water is permitted to accumulate and freeze, it will cause the glass to shift and potentially shatter. Weep holes must be provided, as needed. Be sure to also protect the aluminum from direct contact with cement or disimilar metals using an appropriate buffer as corrosion will otherwise occur.
